The new building - minimal damage

In an earlier post, I mentioned that I had gone to the site yesterday and had a closer look at the building.  As I had anticipated the damage to the building is minor and superficial
The bathrooms on the first floor have been effected though, so we will need to make some decisions on how to repair that.  The other areas of damage are straight forward - they are sections of block wall (mostly 4 rows high) that came down.

Our security walls on the perimeter of the property suffered a lot of damage and will take a lot of time and effort to repair.

I have a few pics to show of the site.  It will give you an idea of the limited amount of damage that has occurred.

Security wall at the south end of the property.  The section in the middle that remains standing has a heavy lean to it - it is close to collapsing and dangerous.  There is a section in the wall in the wall at the back that is also leaning and will need to be rebuilt.  The wall to the south of the propery is mostly stone.  4 rows of blocks that were on the top of the stone has fallen.

This picture is of the front staircase built recently by a team from Canada.  The staircase is covered with blocks that tumbled onto the landing from the second floor.  No structural damage - just a few blocks have fallen.

This picture was taken inside the staff washroom on the first floor.  The wall has been plastered and ready for painting.  You can see a major crack (perhaps 1/4 inch) running along the join between the column and the wall.  While the wall itself didn't crack - it shifted about 1/4 of an inch.  To the left of the beam you can see other cracks coming out from the window and running up and down.  Again blocks - no structural damage.  There are several other areas in the washrooms with cracks in the block walls.
